Wildlife days and trips for photography guides, camera brands and retailers

From a single day to a full week: guided time on the road and on the water across Morvern, Ardnamurchan and Mull, with our own boat, our own hotel and a local team who know this coast inside out. Everything in one place.

Why work with us

We are uniquely placed to run photography days on the West Coast of Scotland. We are not a booking agent stitching suppliers together: the guides, the boat and the accommodation are all ours.

Local expertise

We live in Lochaline and spend our year out on this coast. Years of local wildlife survey and monitoring work mean we know the territories, the tides and the behaviour of the animals here, so your clients get time with wildlife rather than time searching for it.

Our own boat

Island Panther is our RedBay cabin RIB: heated cabin, room for 6 photographers (or 8 wildlife watchers) and fast enough to visit several eagle territories in a trip. Because the boat is ours, we can go out when the weather is best.

Our own accommodation

We own Lochaline Hotel, a short walk from the pontoon. Your group can stay, eat and edit in one place, with no transfers between suppliers and one point of contact for the whole trip.

White Tailed Eagles up close

We have worked hard to get eagles used to our boat, so your group gets close, natural encounters in a huge range of light and backdrops.

Half day: visits 3 to 4 pairs of White Tailed Eagles.
Full day: visits up to 7 pairs of White Tailed Eagles.

On the road and on the water

We guide both by boat and by road, and run half and full days across our whole range:

  • On the water: White Tailed Eagles up close, Puffins on Lunga (April to July), Basking Sharks and Shearwaters (August and September), whales and dolphins.
  • On the road: Otters on the Morvern shoreline, Golden Eagles, Hen Harriers, owls, Red Squirrels and Pine Martens.

A day, a few days or a week: book a single half or full day, or build a package of several days that mixes boat days, road days and nights at Lochaline Hotel. A week lets you work around the weather and the tides, and target different species each day.

Half or full day: local trips around the Sound of Mull, Loch Sunart and Morvern can be half or full day. Trips further afield, such as Staffa and Lunga, the Small Isles or Mull, need a full day.

Pine marten & red squirrel hides – coming in 2027

We are building dedicated woodland hides for Pine Martens and Red Squirrels, available from next year. Morvern has one of the densest Pine Marten populations in the UK and a healthy Red Squirrel population, so these will add a reliable woodland day alongside the boat and the shoreline.

Who we work with

Our days and multi-day packages suit:

  • Photography guides bringing their own groups for a day or a full workshop week, who want a skipper and local guide who understands photographers
  • Camera brands running kit trials, launches or ambassador days
  • Retailers hosting customer workshops and experience days

We keep groups small and always put the wildlife first: careful boat handling, no disturbance, and the patience to do it properly.

Let's plan your trip

Tell us who is coming, what you would like to photograph, when, and for how long. Whether it is one day or a full week, we will put together a plan with boat days, road days and accommodation in one place.
