FINLAND
This is going to be special! We are going in search of Wolverine in Finland. Based in the Boreal Forest in fantastic hides and great accomodation.
We will spend 5 days in the wild teaching you how to photograph some of the most exciting wildlife on the planet. Our primary target will be Wolverine, but we are in the forest around the time the Brown Bears start to wake, Wolves are regular visitors as are Golden and White Tailed Eagles. We are also excited by the range of Owls that use the Boreal forest. There are hides where we can see Beavers, Elk and a huge range of other animals. We will run out of memory cards.
Recommended lenses: Close ups 200-400mm, longer range 600mm. For Northern lights 10-24mm range is fine.
Recommended clothing: Something warm! Temperature range is -5 to +5 degrees celcius, and we can be out in the hides for some time, so wrap up warm. It’s worth investing in battery powered warmers (gloves, socks, hat, seating pad etc). They can be a god send.

Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Meet at Helsinki airport. We will take a flight aiming to land before midday. We then take an internal flight to Kajaani where we are collected and transferred to the Boreal forest. We will then unpack, settle in and have a short briefing before our first evening in the hide.
Day 2: Pro Bear hides. These are small hides with one guide per group of 3. We will hope for wolverine, brown bear, wolf, eagles and owls throughout the day. Depart the hide in later afternoon before heading back for twilight and the potential of owls before overnighting in the hide.
Day 3: Day in swamp hide. We can expect large carnivores, Beavers, Elk and a wide variety of smaller birds. This will give us a different set of backdrops to Day 2.
Day 4: Big bear hide. This is a larger hide that will take the whole group, so we can work as a team and learn from each other.
Day 5: Pro Bear hide
Day 6: Return back to Kajaani and then to Helsinki for return flight.
