Our boat is a RedBay StormForce 1050 RIB. It has a heated cabin, easy access on and off and generous stern and bow decks. We cruise at about 20 knots, which allows us to get to all of our sites in comfort and at speed. It is extremely comfortable as a passenger even when it gets a bit rough.
RedBay StormForce boats are well known for their ability in heavy seas and while we will always err on the side of caution, it’s good to know that these boats are capable enough to have been used as lifeboats.
The boat is perfect for Eagles because of the openness of the deck and the speed of the boat giving us the capabiilty to reach a large number of pairs on a trip. It gives plenty of room to move around and watch the birds or capture the perfect photo. This is an example of what happens on the boat. This is taken with a 200mm lens on a proper camera, but you can quite easily record encounters with your phone.
