Helping you get the best from the West Coast
Nice to meet you
Our Story
A wildlife trip company years in the making
It's funny how things work out. We are Fraser and Peter and we both live in Lochaline, a gorgeous little village nestled on the Morvern coast. If you had asked either of us a few years ago what we would be doing now, I doubt either of us would have guessed this, but shared interests and passions brought us together to do something we have both dreamed of. We share the belief that wildlife trips should be small scale, ethically founded and always put the wildlife first.
Fraser's background is as a marine biologist that after PhD funding issues led him into leading diving and Northern Lights trips in Iceland. He has years of driving boats and 4x4s across Iceland looking for interesting dives and dancy green things.
Peter has a diverse background that includes journalism, software engineering and teaching. Peter last found himself teaching at a large independent school and now lives the dream taking photos of wildlife. He is passionate about nature and conservation and when not heading out to show people the wonders of the West Coast is a trustee or marine charity Caolas and a Director of Wild Scotland.
Oli Turner is a visual artist and photographer from Yorkshire whose work explores the deep connections between landscape, ecology, and the living world. Rooted in a multidisciplinary practice, her approach to wildlife photography combines a passion for conservation with a fine art sensibility — encouraging a slower, more attentive way of seeing.
Now based between the remote and beautiful Morvern peninsula and Glasgow, Oli brings a fresh perspective to the Wild West Coast experience. A guided trip with her may include encounters with eagles, otters, wading birds, and waterfowl, as well as visits to ancient and prehistoric sites that reveal the layers of history within the landscape itself.
With a background in analogue photography — often working with medium-format film — Oli enjoys sharing the tactile, mindful process of using traditional cameras. Guests can learn how to load film, use a light meter, and develop an intuitive feel for light and composition. This slower pace of photography naturally complements Morvern’s calm and contemplative environment.
Equally at home with digital photography, Oli can help you refine your technique, develop your eye for wildlife, and capture striking images of Scotland’s elusive creatures. A recent graduate of the Glasgow School of Art with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art Photography, Oli has received several awards, including the Visual Arts Scotland Graduate Award and selection for RSA New Contemporaries.
the big RIB
Island Panther
We are so excited about Island Panther! It's a Redbay 1050 RIB with seating for 8 passengers and us two crew. What is great about a RedBay is that while it is technically a RIB, it doesn't actually need the tubes, they provide stability - this means that when there's a bit of chop about either when we are moving or stopped, the boat is extremely stable. It has loads of storage space for kit for a few days, a large rear deck and a fab swimming platform. It is super smooth and comfortable in almost any weather (believe us, we've tested it!)
